The Young Eagles Program in Malaysia

The YEP in Malaysia commenced acitivities in 1993 by conducting several Flight Rallies in and around Kuala Lumpur. To date, more than 600 Malaysian children from the age group of 8-18 have been given an opportunity to undertake a discovery flight with members of EAA Malaysia.

To take this program a step further, EAA Malaysia conducted its first "Young Eagles Youth Adventure Camp" at a picturesque grass airfield in Ulu Bernam lower Perak. This five-day Camp saw 80 boys and girls camping out at the airfield and undertaking a variety of interesting tasks connected with aviation. Highlights of the camp included being taken for two familiarization flights and a one-hour cross-country flight. Several other camps of a similar nature have been held to date.
